Openness to work shifts – mornings, evenings and weekends – is a primary requirement.

Our client is looking for candidates with 6-8 years of digital journalism experience – preferably a part of it handling visual media – to help drive daily video content programming for its online space and apps on a wide variety of platforms). This is a unique opportunity for skilled digital to be a part of an innovative and expanding set-up.

  • Client is one of the biggest global media brands, serving readers in dozens of countries and languages.
  • The current position is based out of the company’s Delhi Media Center.
  • The specified opportunity is with the US video team.
  • The candidate may also be asked to guide/help video sections of other MSN properties from time-to-time or dedicatedly in the future.
KEY EXPECTED TASKS
  • Relate to the local needs of the US user and/or other assigned markets.
  • Work independently and partner with various teams across MSN in order to maximize opportunities to promote video content that engages and delights.
  • Support and supplement breaking news and big story coverage with live video streams.
  • Scout the best video content available from MSN partners and prepare it for presentation, discounting all videos with profanity, nudity and other risky images.
  • Spot and stay on top of online video trends at all times.
  • Identify/implement audience-focused video content strategies.
  • Work with editors across various countries and different time zones.
  • Derive daily insights from content publishing and data reporting tools.
  • Liaison with technology teams to improve and test current/future MSN products.
  • Understand and support a variety of other business objectives.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
  • Know how of US and global media industry standards.
  • Experience handling a variety of genres across digital platforms.
  • Working knowledge of how to independently handle breaking news scenarios, where speed and accuracy would be of the essence.
  • Expertise in collaborating in a fast-paced newsroom with a team of editors/producers.
  • Proven ability to choose from a wide range of content options and select those that offer the greatest currency and the deepest relevance with an unbiased and objective narration of facts.
  • Keen understanding of the best, most elegant content offered by high-quality news outlets.
  • Solid journalistic skills and strong knowledge of news, finance, sports, entertainment and lifestyle topics of interest to an international audience.
  • Attention to detail, an appreciation for strong visual presentation and a passion for editorial excellence.
  • Good knowledge of engaging with the audiences on social platforms.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6 – 8 years of editorial experience in digital journalism, part of it handling videos.
  • Ability to work across boundaries with shared objectives and a passion around immersive content experiences.
  • Experience and keen understanding of online publishing tools and content management systems.
  • 3+ years of using metrics-reporting packages to inform content programming and forecasting.
  • Degree in journalism, communications or related discipline preferred.
  • Candidates with video production and editing experience will be preferred.
  • Stints in television and digital newsrooms will be big differentiators.
